The Greenburgh Town Board appreciates comments from residents at its open meetings. Recently, comments have been made that, whether intended or not, were hurtful to other members of the public because the comment perpetuated racial or religious tropes and stereotypes. We believe it is appropriate to remind everyone that bigotry and hate have no place in Greenburgh. As we move forward we will work together to educate each other around this issue. Our goal is to maintain a robust and constructive dialogue. We are confident that this Town can continue to have these dialogues.

MOMENT OF SILENCE

In memory of Oscar Jones, longtime employee who was currently still working in the Town of Greenburgh Building Department. “Oscar S. Jones, Assistant Building Inspector, Town of Greenburgh, for over twenty-three years was known for his dedication to assisting homeowners with navigating through the often detailed permit processes in the department. Affectionately known by family and friends as “Brother,” Oscar was a lifelong resident of the Town of Greenburgh. He graduated from Elmsford Public Schools, attended Manhattan’s New York Institute of Technology and Howard University’s School of Architecture and Planning where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. Oscar worked on the Eisenhower Museum at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C and on several other major design projects as an architect in the Town of Greenburgh including the William Brown and James Bason Corp., townhouse developments in White Plains and Elmsford, building and site development plans for several churches in the town including the First Community Church of the Nazarene, the Full Gospel Christian Fellowship Church and construction additions to St. Francis and St. Martha’s Episcopal Church. He was highly regarded throughout the town for his skills and expertise as an architect and for his genuine kindness and concern for others. Oscar will be sorely missed.”

GOOD NEWS...The Town continues (since 2008) to have the highest possible bond rating from Standard & Poors (AAA) and (since 2010) (Aaa) from Moody's. Less than 1% of communities in the nation have this record of financial stability. Recently, on 3/23/2021, Moody's reaffirmed the Town earned Moody's highest rating and, on 03/26/2021, Standard & Poors once again reaffirmed the Town earned Standard & Poors highest rating.

No interruptions by Town Board members, the Town Clerk or the public will be permitted. Any questions on agenda items should be asked at this time. Department Heads have the option of leaving the meeting following Public Comment.
