The Greenburgh Town Board appreciates comments from residents at its open meetings. Recently, comments have been made that, whether intended or not, were hurtful to other members of the public because the comment perpetuated racial or religious tropes and stereotypes. We believe it is appropriate to remind everyone that bigotry and hate have no place in Greenburgh. As we move forward we will work together to educate each other around this issue. Our goal is to maintain a robust and constructive dialogue. We are confident that this Town can continue to have these dialogues.

ROLL CALL:   Town Clerk

MOMENT OF SILENCE

In memory of Frank Cavaliere, a dedicated Dispatcher with the Town of Greenburgh for almost 29 years.  The number of people he helped could never be fully calculated.  Dispatcher Frank Cavaliere was the calm, reassuring voice that the public heard when they called for help, and the voice that members of the Greenburgh Police Department and Greenburgh EMS heard as they responded to those emergencies. Frank was always there when we needed him. He was a man of faith and leaves behind a family who he cherished more than anything and considered his proudest achievements.  We thank his family for the missed holidays, weekends and long nights they sacrificed for his service to the Department.  A recipient of several Department awards, Frank served proudly and remained dedicated to the job he did for so long.  His loss is felt by the entire Town of Greenburgh Police Department, especially his fellow dispatchers.

In memory of Laura Gallagher, a long time former employee of the Town, who passed on February 3rd after fighting a courageous battle with ALS.  She served as the Secretary to the Commissioner of Parks & Recreation for the majority of her time with the Town, retiring in 2019.  She was a great ambassador for the department and Town. Laura was a very special person, always kind, helpful, caring, and considerate to all, whether it be a resident, town board member, advisory board member or town employee.  During the days leading to former Councilman Kevin Morgan's passing, Laura and her husband, Hugh Gallagher (a retired Police Officer with the Town of Greenburgh), were always there providing comfort, support, and help to a friend.  Laura treated others like family.  She put others first.  She was also an exceptional employee - pleasant, treated residents who had concerns with respect.  Always helpful.  We will all miss her.  A fantastic human being. She made the world a better place. In memory of Laura, this spring in Anthony F. Veteran Park, the Department of Parks and Recreation will plant a Cherry Blossom tree in her honor so we can remember her for years to come.

In memory of Donald Sledge, a longtime Greenburgh resident.  Don Sledge was a community activist for many years. He attended numerous meetings of the Greenburgh Town Board, expressing his view on important issues. He spoke about the need for affordable housing, job creation opportunities, was passionate about the Theodore D. Young Community Center. He was involved with our senior citizens and helped bring to the attention of town officials concerns individual residents had that needed to be addressed.

In memory of the 908,820+ individual victims of COVID-19 who have died in the United States, 5,745,032+ deaths worldwide, each leaving family members and friends too soon
