EVERYONE IS ENCOURAGED TO SPEAK BEFORE THE TOWN BOARD ON ANY SUBJECT;
HOWEVER, PERSONAL ATTACKS, OF ANY KIND, TOWARD ANYONE, WILL NOT BE PERMITTED

The Greenburgh Town Board appreciates comments from residents at its open meetings.  Recently, comments have been made that, whether intended or not, were hurtful to other members of the public because the comment perpetuated racial or religious tropes and stereotypes.  We believe it is appropriate to remind everyone that bigotry and hate have no place in Greenburgh.  As we move forward we will work together to educate each other around this issue.  Our goal is to maintain a robust and constructive dialogue.  We are confident that this Town can continue to have these dialogues.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

MOMENT OF SILENCE

In memory of Marty J. Thornton, retired and respected DPW Highway Department employee. Marty was a very dedicated public servant--appreciated and liked by town employees who he worked with and by residents whose lives he made better during his tenure with the town.

In memory of Arnold Nagar, longtime resident of Hastings-on-Hudson,  escaped with his family from Nazi Germany two months before Kristallnacht, (The “Night of Broken Glass”), when he was a young child.  Most of his family perished in the Holocaust. He grew up in the Bronx and became both an educator and an attorney. He served as a Middle School Principal in the Bronx.  After becoming an attorney, he served in the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander in the JAG Corps. He moved to Hastings many years ago and lived there with his wife, Ina. He was a lifelong Democrat, always committed to the United States and democracy.

In memory of the people in Ukraine killed during Russia's invasion and relentless intentional targeted bombing of civilians in apartment buildings, hospitals, train stations, schools and children centers in an effort to destroy Ukraine and its people, who are forced to fight for their land, their freedom, and general democratic priniciples. May they rest in peace and peace be restored to Ukraine.

In memory of the 1,023,774+ individual victims of COVID-19 who have died in the United States, 6,418,958+ deaths worldwide, each leaving family members and friends too soon
