MOMENT OF SILENCE In memory of Cora Lena Carey, 86, who passed on 2/18/2025, passionate in her commitment to children, the underserved, the Greenburgh School District and Fairview community, always guided by her faith. Cora never shied away from a struggle, not even in her later years and deteriorating health. She was co-chair of the 3C's, the longest running locally produced cable access program; a Democratic District Leader, NAACP volunteer, Greenburgh Central School District Board member and Greenburgh Housing Authority member; and she was a founding member of Town's Antenna Review Board, serving 29 years until her passing. Greenburgh is a much better place because of Cora. In memory of Morton J. David, former Mayor and Trustee of Ardsley , who passed on February 18 at the age of 85. He served in the US Army, was an educator in NYC and a Dean at Walter Panas HS. A devoted father, his paternal duties unintentionally set his political career in motion. Infuriated over the lack of a bathroom at a local park that his son desperately needed, he decided to get into Village politics. He would ultimately be elected trustee and then ascend to role of mayor in Ardsley, serving the village for eight years. He remained active in the Democratic Party in Westchester County, in his temple, and served on several boards.His intelligence, kindness, wit, passion, empathy, and devotion to his family and community will continue to inspire us all, well beyond his lifetime. In memory of those around the world who have perished as victims of war, disease and natural disaster. Our hearts are with all who needlessly suffer.
