MOMENT OF SILENCE In memory of Samuel A. Wilkins, Jr. (Sam to his friends), devoted husband to Anne, was well-known in the Town of Greenburgh, having served as President of Parkway Gardens Civic Association, a Greenburgh Central School District board member, and President of the White Plains/Greenburgh Branch of the NAACP as well as serving on its Executive Board. He was also President and Chairman of the Hillside Development Corporation, and believed in giving his tenants a well-kept and affordable place to live. He also believed in recognizing those who helped him succeed, donating $100,000 to his alma mater, Saint Paul's College, and serving as its National Alumni President an unprecedented seven terms. Sam has won more local, regional and national awards than can be listed. There will be a memorial service for Sam on Sunday, October 19, 1:30pm, at McMahon's Funeral Home, 491 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains. In memory of John Saccardi, highly respected planner for 46 years, including through his valiant and relatively lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. Until the battle ended, as a consultant for the applicant, he continued to work on the 100 acre Eastview Holdings LLC Landmark at Eastview project, adding his professionalism to the design and approval process, to the delight of all involved. He was a staunch advocate for affordable housing and good planning and was the recent recipient of the Westchester Municipal Planning Federation's 2014 President's Award for Lifetime Achievement in Planning. He earned the respect of fellow planners, town, planning and zoning boards, and the community by his work, and the admiration of all for the example he set, especially in the last year. There will be a memorial service for John on October 12 at 1:00pm at Community Unitarian Church at White Plains, 468 Rosedale Avenue. In memory of Joseph Tenner, father of Gerard Tenner, a longtime Town employee, head of Equipment Repair. His father Joseph was a World War II Navy veteran, and an avid Yankee Fan.
